JK Tyre & Industries has marked a major milestone in sustainable mobility by launching India’s first passenger car tyre made with ISCC Plus-certified sustainable raw materials. Named UX Royale Green, the tyre is currently being manufactured at the company’s Chennai facility and represents a significant step forward in the integration of eco-friendly practices in the Indian automotive sector.
The UX Royale Green has been developed over a period of more than ten years by the JK Tyre Global Tech Center. The tyre is composed of 80% sustainable, renewable, and recycled materials, including bio-attributed polymers, renewable oils, recycled rubber powder, recovered carbon black, recycled polyester, and sustainably sourced steel wire. These materials have been certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus standard, which ensures transparency, traceability, and responsible sourcing across the entire supply chain.

This is the first time that such certified raw materials have been used in passenger car tyres in India. The certification sets a benchmark for the industry and affirms JK Tyre’s leadership in sustainable innovation.
Commenting on the launch, Dr Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries, called the initiative a defining moment in the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible innovation. He reaffirmed the company’s goal to create high-performance products that uphold ecological integrity, guided by green technologies and circular economy principles.
Originally developed in August 2023, the UX Royale Green has undergone extensive testing to ensure it delivers on safety, durability, and performance. This initiative aligns with JK Tyre’s longstanding leadership in quality standards, it was the first tyre company in the world to secure ISO 9001 certification across its operations in 1995. The launch of the UX Royale Green reinforces its role as a pioneer in responsible manufacturing and sustainable mobility.
