Ford UK is introducing its Power Promise incentives program alongside the launch of the all-electric Puma models to encourage the transition to electric vehicles. The Ford Power Promise offers a complimentary home charger and installation to customers purchasing electric vehicles, along with 10,000 miles worth of home charging credits through Octopus Energy.
The package includes a complimentary five-year service plan with EV towing, as well as an eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty covering the battery and high-voltage components. The offer extends to Ford’s entire passenger vehicle lineup, featuring models such as the Mustang Mach-E, Explorer, Capri EVs, and the upcoming Puma Gen-E—a fully electric variant of its top-selling compact SUV. It also includes the E-Tourneo Custom and E-Tourneo Courier MPVs, which are built on van platforms.

Ford has introduced its incentives to alleviate customer concerns about the upfront costs and complexities of switching to EVs. The Power Promise seeks to overcome these perceived barriers, prioritizing efforts to ease the financial burden of installing home charging infrastructure.
The incentive deal provides customers with an Ohme home wallbox and installation valued at £899, plus £217 in Octopus Energy credits—enough for 10,000 miles of charging at the 7p/kWh rate on the Octopus Intelligent Go tariff. This smart tariff enables up to 70% savings on energy costs during off-peak hours.
Catherine Blee, Ford UK’s head of passenger vehicle sales, highlighted that the Puma has been the UK’s top-selling car for several years, attracting a loyal customer base eager for an electrified version.

The deal primarily focuses on the complimentary charger, but for those unable or unwilling to install one, £500 in credit will be provided instead. Additionally, the company is intensifying efforts to promote its virtual Blue Oval Charging Network, which grants access to approximately 33,000 public charging stations via Ford’s app.
The Ford Power Promise was launched after a company survey revealed that a quarter of customers face increased uncertainty and complexity when purchasing a new electric vehicle. Furthermore, one in eight individuals reported challenges with setting up home charging, while one-third felt that charging an EV takes too much time.
