Kia is broadening the reach of its AI-driven voice recognition system, AI Assistant, following its initial rollout in Korea and the United States the previous year. The company revealed that certain European customers will now have access to the AI Assistant system.
The key advantages of Kia’s AI Assistant are its advanced intelligence and its capability to comprehend user intentions. It is programmed to process voice commands and queries, delivering information to users in a connected and coherent manner.
By offering additional context and details when posing questions, users can receive more precise and relevant responses from the AI Assistant. The feature ensures that the information provided is highly beneficial and tailored to the needs.

The deployment of Kia’s AI Assistant began with the EV3 model in March 2025. The rollout will expand the connected car navigation system to additional models, integrating the Cockpit (CCNC) system via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Unlike earlier voice control systems, Kia’s AI Assistant is accessible via a button on the steering wheel or the voice command ‘Hey Kia.’ The AI Assistant can manage extensive requests, ranging from restaurant recommendations to support with vehicle functionalities such as Highway Driving Assist.

The OTA technology enables the voice recognition system to update the latest AI Assistant for EV3S through the connected car navigation cockpit system. This ensures that users can continually access the newest features and enhancements.
Although the Assistant augments user experience in supported regions, it underscores a noticeable gap in digital accessibility. In India, Kia’s models, like the Sonet and Seltos, may take longer to incorporate such advanced digital systems. At present, the technology is standard only on higher-end variants, such as the Kia K4 in the U.S. and the EV3 in Korea.
