Stellantis is set to introduce Leapmotor’s electric vehicles to India, signalling a deeper commitment to the country’s emerging EV landscape. Leapmotor, one of China’s fastest-growing electric vehicle manufacturers, has rapidly expanded its global footprint, delivering nearly 300,000 units in 2024—doubling its previous year’s total. Now, the brand is preparing to bring that momentum to Indian roads, joining the ranks of global EV players such as Tesla and VinFast, eyeing entry into the local market.
Speaking at the Auto Shanghai Show 2025, Leapmotor’s CEO outlined an ambitious roadmap to secure a place among the world’s top five or six new energy vehicle makers within three years. The company also announced plans to initiate localized manufacturing in Europe by 2026, marking a significant step in its international expansion strategy.

Leapmotor’s rise has been bolstered by key milestones, including the launch of its B10 SUV, priced under $18,000 and equipped with advanced smart-driving features and lidar technology. Within 13 days of launch, 8,000 units of the B10 were delivered. In 2022 alone, the company sold over 300,000 vehicles.
A major turning point came in 2023 when global auto giant Stellantis invested $1.6 billion in Leapmotor, acquiring a 21% stake. This led to the creation of Leapmotor International, a joint venture in which Stellantis holds a controlling share, giving the Chinese brand a strategic platform for global expansion.

Leapmotor’s current EV portfolio includes the compact city car T03, the feature-rich B10 electric crossover, and the C10, which offers a range of up to 950 km. The lineup also features the C10 REEV, a range-extended version powered by a petrol engine that charges the battery, enabling a combined range of up to 970 km.
