Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new GLC electric SUV, marking the brand’s first fully electric SUV variant for the U.S. market. Since its U.S. debut in 2015, the GLC has remained a cornerstone of the Mercedes-Benz lineup and one of its most consistently top-selling luxury SUVs. The model now moves into the next phase, featuring EQ Technology.
The GLC with EQ Technology serves as a natural successor to the EQC. Unlike the previous EQC, the GLC EQ is built from the ground up as a dedicated electric vehicle (EV), rather than being adapted from an existing internal combustion engine (ICE) platform.
The new GLC EQ features next-generation Mercedes battery technology based on an 800-volt architecture, allowing charging speeds of up to 330 kW. This enables the vehicle to gain approximately 303 km of range in just 10 minutes under optimal conditions. Built on the MB(dot)EA platform, the GLC EQ can also deliver impressive range performance, with an estimated 713 km according to the European WLTP testing standards.

Inside the cabin, the GLC EQ boasts an expansive 39.1-inch Hyperscreen—the largest ever installed in a Mercedes vehicle. This expansive unit combines three distinct screens: a 10.25-inch unit for the driver, a 14-inch central touchscreen, and a 14-inch display for the front passenger. The infotainment system is powered by the latest iteration of MBUX, Mercedes-Benz’s advanced operating platform, which simultaneously leverages AI technologies from both Google and Microsoft to enhance user interaction and personalization.
True to Mercedes-Benz’s premium standards, the GLC comes loaded with an extensive array of active and passive safety systems. Key features include MB(dot)Drive, which offers adaptive cruise control and hands-free driving functionality, along with MB(dot)Parking Assist, which delivers comparable semi-autonomous support for parking maneuvers.

The upcoming GLC EV will be available in two versions: the single-motor, rear-wheel-drive GLC 300+ and the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive GLC 400 4Matic. The GLC 300+ delivers 369 BHP and 504 Nm of torque, while the more powerful GLC 400 4Matic offers 483 BHP and 808 Nm. The GLC with EQ Technology is expected to launch in the U.S. in the second half of 2026, though official pricing has not yet been revealed.
