Pagani has entered a six-year production partnership with Australian firm Conflux Technology to integrate advanced heat exchangers into the transmission system of its newest hypercar, the Pagani Utopia. The collaboration has resulted in a 30% improvement in heat rejection compared to previous solutions, ensuring the vehicle maintains peak thermal performance under extreme driving conditions.
The Utopia is powered by a custom-built Pagani V12, a 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine developed by Mercedes-AMG, and is paired with a bespoke seven-speed Xtrac transmission available in both manual and automated formats. This combination delivers exceptional control and responsiveness while adhering to global emissions standards.

The significant power and dynamic capabilities of the Utopia required innovative thermal management, especially within the transmission oil system. In response, Pagani collaborated with Conflux Technology, a specialist in heat transfer and additive manufacturing, to create a tailored heat exchanger using state-of-the-art AM techniques.
Michael Fuller, founder and CEO of Conflux Technology, expressed pride in the partnership: “It’s an incredible privilege to contribute to the creation of groundbreaking vehicles for industry leaders like Pagani. Our advanced heat exchangers are designed to enable new levels of effectiveness, perfectly complementing the engineering craftsmanship that Pagani is celebrated for.”
The heat exchanger was subjected to extensive testing, including thermal shock and track validations, to confirm its durability and suitability for high-performance applications.

Oliver Nixon, head of high-performance automotive at Xtrac, noted, “The innovation of Conflux’s technology has allowed Xtrac to continue to push the boundaries of transmission performance, while maintaining the lightweight, motorsport-derived ethos of our transmission solutions.”
Francesco Perini, head of Pagani’s technical department, added, “Conflux’s advanced heat transfer technology empowers the Pagani Utopia to achieve superior heat rejection, ensuring optimal thermal balance, even in severe driving conditions. Their cartridge heat exchangers are a testament to precision and innovation, supporting the Utopia’s ability to perform both on scenic drives and the most demanding tracks.”
