Porsche has expanded its electric vehicle infrastructure with the opening of its sixth Charging Lounge in Leonberg, near Stuttgart. Designed to provide a top-tier charging experience, the cutting-edge facility caters to Porsche EV owners, including those driving the Taycan and Macan Electric, while prioritizing sustainability and convenience.
The charging lounge is equipped with six high-speed DC fast-charging stations, each providing up to 450 kW of power. This enables swift charging for Porsche electric vehicles, with the Taycan reaching 80% charge from 10% in just 18 minutes, while the Macan Electric achieves the same level in 21 minutes.
Developed in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche, the lounge features a modular design incorporating steel, stainless steel, wood, and stone, reducing reliance on concrete. A regional partner in Baden-Württemberg manufactured these components using renewable energy.

The facility includes a rooftop photovoltaic system for electricity generation, a heat pump for efficient heating and cooling, and a digital building management system that optimizes energy use by dimming lights when unoccupied.
Customers can enter the lounge seamlessly using the Porsche ID, with automatic access enabled through license plate recognition. Alternatively, they can use a Porsche Charging Card or scan a QR code via the My Porsche app. Billing is streamlined through the Porsche Charging Service, which provides access to over 900,000 charging points globally, including 75,000 fast-charging stations. Additionally, partnerships with IONITY and Aral Pulse offer exclusive discounts for Porsche Charging Service Plus subscribers.
In addition to the facility, the lounge also provides a relaxing space with high-speed WiFi, further enhancing connectivity and convenience for users.
